The Pleasant Hill Cemetery is maintained by the Village of Pleasant Hill under Ordinance 1143. We are proud to share that four Revolutionary War soldiers are interred here.

The cemetery is open from dawn to dusk daily.

Burials
Mon-Fri 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Saturday 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. No burials on Sundays or holidays.
Disinterment
Monday through Friday only, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

All fees follow Ordinance 1143. Opening and closing fees must be paid in full before the burial. The grave-side service add-on may be billed after the burial.

Rules & Regulations
Scheduling & Burials
- Cemetery personnel must be notified by 12:00 PM Friday for a burial the following Monday.
- No burials are scheduled on Sundays or Village-recognized holidays.
- Foundation orders for spring pour are due by March 31. Fall pour orders are due by September 1. All foundations must be constructed by cemetery personnel.
- All vaults must be inspected by cemetery personnel to verify they are adequate to support fill and equipment.
- Each grave is limited to: one adult body, or two infant bodies, or one infant and one adult plus one cremated remains, or two cremated remains.
- Funeral directors must supply a lot and grave number for every burial. The cemetery is not responsible for errors caused by incorrect information.
- Multiple burials are never permitted if they require removal of a prior burial.
- All burials except cremation require a concrete vault.
- Ledger stones (full grave coverings) are not permitted on lots sold after Ordinance 1143.
- Wilbert Way type burials are not permitted.
- Monuments, memorial stones, grave markers, and saddles are not the property of the cemetery. Maintenance and repair are the responsibility of the lot owner and heirs. Owners may insure monuments through their own insurance.
Decorations & Plantings
- No person may plant trees, shrubs, flowers, or vegetation on cemetery grounds without written consent of cemetery personnel. Existing growth that is overgrown, unsightly, or interferes with another lot will be removed.
- No dumping of refuse, trees, limbs, grass clippings, flowers, mulch, shrubs, concrete, asphalt, rock, or dirt.
- No borders may be placed around any monument or grave.
- The grave name must be clearly marked on all decorations.
- No glass containers are allowed on cemetery grounds.
- Funeral flowers and decorations must be removed within one week after the funeral.
- Unkempt decorations will be removed and discarded by cemetery personnel.
- Artificial flowers and potted plants are allowed one week before and one week after Memorial Day, then must be removed. All decorations must rest on the monument or lawn, never placed in the soil.
- Cemetery clean-up is March 15 each year. Decorations that interfere with grounds-keeping during the mowing season (April through October) will continue to be removed as needed.
- Artificial wreaths, crosses, ornaments, and designs are allowed November 20 through March 15 of the following year.
- Statuary, non-floral decorations not part of the monument design, benches, baskets, crockery, glass, wire, wrought iron, metal receptacles, wood chips, marble chips, windsocks, and similar items are not permitted and will be removed without notice.
- Veteran bronze markers are allowed.
- One single shepherd hook is allowed per grave. It must be placed against the monument and not extend beyond the foundation. One hanging plant or vigil light may hang from each hook.
- Any violation of decoration rules will result in removal of the item.
Cemetery Grounds
- No all-terrain vehicles or snowmobiles are allowed on cemetery grounds.
- Cemetery personnel are those persons designated by Village Council to maintain or operate the cemetery.
