Pleasant Hill village council approved the Consent Agenda, including August financial reports, wages, and payment listings.
- Council accepted the low bid from Reliable Waste Systems for a five-year trash and recycling contract, which includes large item pickup and biweekly recycling.
- A first reading was approved for an ordinance adjusting the monthly rate for curbside solid waste and recycling collection.
- Ordinance 1166 was adopted, updating the rules for operation of the Pleasant Hill cemetery.
- Council approved the first reading of an ordinance to levy 2025 assessments for sidewalk, curb, and driveway replacement projects.
- Resolutions were introduced to continue contracts for Sheriff’s Department services, prosecutorial services, public defender services, and to employ a village solicitor.
- A proposed ordinance regulating trash containers and another addressing sidewalk obstruction were not advanced by village council.
- A resolution to enter into a new website agreement was tabled after concerns were raised about the existing IT contract, and the current IT consultant announced his resignation effective October 9.
- Village officials reported plans to subcontract street sweeping this fall and move forward with approximately $20,000 in street and utilities-related asphalt and valve repairs.
- Council approved up to $13,120 from the general fund for two downtown mural projects, with grant funding expected to reduce the final village cost.
- Residents were reminded of upcoming Pleasant Hill events including the garage sale, Fall Fair, Beggar’s Night, and fire levy town halls.
