Key Highlights from the April 14, 2026 Pleasant Hill Village Council Meeting
- Pleasant Hill will continue encouraging residents to use existing park trash cans for pet waste rather than adding separate dog waste bag stations.
- Street sweeping is scheduled for the following week, with notices telling residents which side of the road will be swept each day.
- A new tornado siren has been ordered, and the village is waiting for shipping and installation details.
- The village chose not to object to liquor permit renewals for the local gas station and Local Coffee and Cream because no citizen complaints or sales-to-minors issues were reported.
- Cleanup and renovations are expected to begin soon at the abandoned property at 13 South Main Street, also known as Frank’s House.
- The village council is reviewing Ordinance 1169, which would address water shut-offs for multiplex properties where individual tenants may have unpaid utilities.
- Residents will be asked for input on the Comprehensive Strategic Plan through a questionnaire, with a future Town Hall meeting also being considered.
- The village council approved Ordinance 1171, establishing a confidential cybersecurity program for village operations.
- Pleasant Hill approved Resolution 2026-07 to purchase the property at 1 South Main Street for up to $299,000, plus up to $1,300 in customary closing costs and inspection expenses.
- The property purchase includes an agreement for the current owner to replace the property’s electrical boxes before the village takes possession.
- The Joint Fire District reported 31 EMS runs along with several fire and hazardous-material calls, while new staffing guidelines are intended to improve emergency response times.
- The village will continue planning community activities, including the April 24 Arbor Day tree planting with local kindergarten students and the library.
