Lenny noted that corrections were required for the minutes of the previous meeting. The record incorrectly showed approving the minutes; however, Kory was absent from that meeting and should have abstained. The Board agreed to approve the minutes with this correction noted.
- Village Manager’s Report
- Implementation of the previously discussed $250 deposit will be delayed until the new fiscal officer is onboarded. The new officer is scheduled to begin on the 23rd of the month, with the delay allowing for a three-week notice period for her former employer.
- Training for the new officer will be conducted remotely by CMI. The board discussed the potential benefit of splitting the standard eight-hour training session into two four-hour sessions to improve retention and allow for questions between sessions. It was noted that the previous fiscal officer is not available to assist with training.
- The first utility billing cycle since the departure of the previous officer proceeded with only minor issues. One account at 116 Pipers Pine is pending a service shutoff, which was delayed due to snow cover but will be addressed.
- Lenny inquired about the status of the UV lamp repairs, stating they had not been reported as complete. Kory responded that he was under the impression the repairs were done but would confirm their status. Lenny expressed concern over the age of the system, which is over twenty years old, and advocated investing in a proper, modern repair solution rather than continuing to source parts from eBay. A discussion on past maintenance procedures for the lamps followed, though members were uncertain if the work was performed in-house or by an external contractor.
- Lenny reported observing three vehicles at the well field earlier in the day, which was considered unusual as the primary operator was out sick. One vehicle was a village truck, while the other two were not. The reason for their presence was unknown.
