Quick answer: This rule keeps yard waste out of the gutters, where it clogs drainage and creates unsafe, unsanitary conditions. It replaced the earlier version (1029).
What you need to know
- You can’t put grass clippings, branches, leaves, or other yard waste onto sidewalks, streets, curb gutters, or other public rights-of-way.
- You also can’t let yard waste pile up on your property for more than about a week.
