The site includes all the information you need to dig safely while protecting our community. By contacting O.U.P.S., If your digging project is within our community, then The Village of Pleasant Hill is notified. Legislative UpdateAt the request of Senator Steve Buehrer, O.U.P.S. Executive Director Roger Lipscomb attended an update meeting on Tuesday, February 24, in Columbus. At this meeting, Senator Buehrer indicated that he is incorporating the comments and concerns received from the interested parties that were due by December 12, 2008, into a draft document. Within the next couple of weeks, he will publish a document for review. Shortly thereafter, there will be another interested party meeting. From that meeting, a schedule of introduction for a draft will be determined. It is expected that a draft will be introduced in the Senate prior to the summer recess. It is not believed that it will get any significant hearings or reviews until after the summer recess. As soon as the revised document has been released from Senator Buehrer, it will be posted and made available on the O.U.P.S. website. View the latest draft of the proposed legislation there. Please remember that this is simply a draft and the current damage prevention law (ORC 3781.25 to 3781.32) remains in place at this time.
